EEEK's Place

November 21, 2008:

OK, so today is Friday! The week went well starting and training for peritoneal dialysis. I'm sure I will enjoy the freedom it allows me although it may take a couple of weeks to get used to the techniques. Today is my final training day with the nurse coming to my house to inspect my ability to do all the procedures at home and, of course, to be sure the enviornment is "friendly" to the requirements. I'm very excited to begin PD. During this week I can surely say I feel much better than I did on hemo dialysis.

Till next time...

November 16, 2008:

Just a quick note on what I'm doing. Monday the 17th I start my training for peritonial dialysis. It will be a long week having to drive back and forth to North Shore Hospital till Thursday. I actually can't wait because it will allow me to go back to a more normal diet with no fluid or potassium restrictions and hopefully, with all the glucose in the solution I'll be using, I might actually gain some weight back. That would be great!

Peace...

November 15, 2008:

I must apologize to my Unce Al for not giving him any credit regarding their trip to Europe. So, I'm sorry and just to prove it, you can check the Photos Page  now and you'll see it's more properly titled. Love you!

Keep the faith...

November 14, 2008:

I posted some photos of my Aunt's Europe Cruise. You'll find them on the Photos Page . Some of the pictures still have to be renamed so you might not be able to click on the plus symbol to get the full image yet. I only renamed pictures 001-092 so still more then half to do. It will be done by later tonight but now, I have to go food shopping so I can eat dinner.

Till next time...

November 13, 2008:

OK, I updated the Memorial Photo Gallery  with more pictures of Jeff.

Keep the pictures coming...

November 12, 2008:

Finally got the Photo Galleries fixed and added some more pictures. I didn't even realize I had these. See what happens when you clean your room!!! Anyhow, I just added some new pictures to the Family Photos Gallery . I also found more pictures of my friend Jeff. Not sure if I'll get to them tonight but by tomorrow night they'll be posted for sure.

Peace...

November 11, 2008:

Not sure why but the Photo Gallery on the Memorial and Photos pages crashed. Giving me a permission error although the permissions are correctly set. I will try again later to see if it works.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

November 8, 2008:

I did some cosmetic updates to The Hibernian Festival Singers  Website. Also, I realize that the ASP.NET Flash Control I'm using to display the Photo Galleries is not XHTML 1.0 compliant. It seems to work in all the browsers available but I really prefer a compliant control to ensure that it will work in the upcoming releases of IE8 and Firefox 3.1. So, in other words, I'll be changing it in th near future.

Till next time...

November 7, 2008:

OK, I updated the Memorial Page . The ASP.NET Flash Control works much better with Mozilla Firefox . Anyone who has problems, please contact me and let me know so I can correct any problems. I know that there are still a few cosmetic issues if you are using Apple's Safari browser but as time goes on  I'm sure I'll be able to work that out.

As a side note, if you are coming from the Microsoft Expression Forum , you can see the photo gallery example using Expression Media  at The Hibernian Festival Singers  Photo Gallery Page. I created that website using the full Microsoft Expression Studio 2  suite.

Keep the faith...

November 6, 2008:

I changed the Photo Gallery on the Photos Page  to a new ASP.NET Flash Control. Much nicer! Please send me comments and more pictures!! I will probably update the Photo Gallery on the Memorial Page  tomorrow.

Thanks...

November 5, 2008:

Wow! I signed up to Classmates.com  and was surprised to see some familiar names. Names that I haven't seen in many years. I love connecting with old friends. One of my biggest regrets was not actually graduating high school. You lose touch with people too easily and miss out on special events like class reunions. We'll see how this turns out.

Peace...

October 17, 2008:

Well it's been a while since my last update and quite a bit has happened. Unfortunately after 11 years, my transplanted kidney has failed requiring dialysis. Pretty much sucks but I have no choice but to live with what's going on. Keep looking at the bright side is the best way to tolerate this illness. I spent two weeks in the hospital while they set me up for hemo dialysis and while I was there, I opted to be set up for peritoneal dialysis. Hemo dialysis is tough since you need to go to a place to be dialysed while peritoneal dialysis can be done at home.

Well, that's all for now.

Keep the Faith...

September 16, 2008:

Just updated the About Me  Page. Couldn't wait too long to update my system. All else is quiet except the Handlebar  website. Over 18,000 hits to that site since the show aired last Thursday. Just unbelievable. I managed to get only a few criticisms on my web design. That website was designed with Microsoft Expression Studio 2  and .Macromedia Flash 8 .

That's all for now...

September 6, 2008:

Just a little bit of rain today. Holy Cow!! I relaunched the Handlebar website and you may want to check it out by clicking HERE . Things are pretty quiet otherwise. Feeling ok these past few days and my next doctor visit is Monday, September 8. I'll keep my fingers crossed as usual.

Till next time...

August 30, 2008:

I fixed the spacing error in the Firefox and Safari web browsers. Actually, they displayed the pages the way they were written, Internet Explorer was not. So, anyway, fixed.

The Photos  page has been completed. I did it the same way I did the Memorial  page so I hope that's ok with everyone.

Keep the Faith...

August 27, 2008:

Been quiet on the site for a little while now. I haven't figured out how I want to lay out the Photos page. Hopefully, that won't take too much longer. It would be nice to actually finish this website.

The benfit for Jeff's kids went pretty well after a minor setback in the beginning of the day. Don't remember how much money was raised, I'll have to check and get back to you on that.

Till next time... Peace

July 27, 2008:

The Memorial Page  is starting to come together. I've finally found the motivation to continue working on my website. Thanks to everyone for coming out here to hang out last night. I had a blast. A special thanks to Tracy, I really had a great time.

July 26, 2008:

Things are finally looking up. Thank God. For a while there I thought the worst of everything. I am working again on this website. The Memorial Page will be the next one finished. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have something to show. Yankees are playing Boston so, I'll be glued to the TV. Last nights game was a 'nailbitter' with the Yankees winning 1-0. Check back soon to see any updates.

July 13, 2008:

Today, Val and I got back from our cruise. We had a wonderful time.

On another note, I am saddened to say that my good friend and club brother Jeffrey Unterschuetz passed away on July 7. A huge loss for his children, family and friends. I'm not sure I've ever felt the pain I'm feeling right now but Jeff's pain was deeper. He lost his girlfriend Donna last year in a motorcycle accident and he was never the same.
I ask God, if he can hear me, to allow Jeff to pass and join his girlfriend. Peace Brother for you will be missed dearly.

July 4, 2008:

Happy Independance Day!!!!!

July 2, 2008:

Been busy so work on my site is a little slow. I'll keep plugging away as time allows it. Right now, getting ready for vacation. I have alot more stuff for Donna's page. (Thanks Jeff, I haven't forgotten.) Probably going to end up with with more than one page for her.

If you are here because of a link in the Microsoft Expression Forum  regarding Expression Media  and the Photo gallery I made, I apologize for removing it. Like all internet pages, there comes a time for change and for me, a new learning experience. You can contact me via my Contact Page  and I'd be more than happy to help you in your quest for a html photo gallery.

June 29, 2008:

Converting the site over to Visual Basic instead of C# so allow more time for the website to be completed. I plan on adding a sign-in page so that I can share files with friends and family. All in time.
Just 1 week away from Val and my cruise vacation to Bermuda. Can't wait! I haven't found anything more peaceful than being out on the ocean, especially at night when there's not much to see but you can hear the ocean's sounds. Fantastic!

Just wanted to add that the Contact Page  is working.

June 26,2008:

Finally feel better. That was a rough couple of days but now, back to work. We'll see what we can get done over the next few days. Patience please, there are some new things going on in this website that I'm not too good with yet. Time to dig back into the books.

June 25, 2008:

I've had a migraine headache the past two days so no website work has been done at all. Today i am starting to feel better so i made a couple updates here but I'm not going to do anything else right now. When I feel better, I'll finish updating this website.

Hope all is well with everyone else.

June 22, 2008:

As you can tell, the website changed. What do you think? Please let me know as I take it all in and will make changes as necessary. This website was built using Microsoft's Visual Web Developer Express 2008 . A great FREE program.
I'm staying very busy with web design. My latest project is over 30 pages of just static html but plenty of it. Hope all is well with everyone.

Still working on the site so, stay tuned and check back as I finish updating all the pages. Thanks!
